Aswoon / Susan Woods

Works between the art and design worlds, spanning each with the other, inspiring the decorative arts/functional art with pure sculpture. The design is informed by sculpture and the sculpture is enhanced by the freedom of making something concrete and usable. The studio brings experimental ideas into the formulation of fabrication as well. The approach is informed, thoughtful, communicative and playful. Working by commission, collaborating with the trade or personal client, is a natural growth of the existing work in the studio or projects that have been completed- site specific or general.
